HBT Security Group offers a supportive, women-focused 16-hour Illinois Conceal Carry class designed to help students build confidence, learn safe firearm handling, and understanding the legal responsibilities of carrying a concealed firearm. This course is taught by experienced instructors who understand the questions, concerns, and perspectives many women bring to self-defense and firearm training.
Our goal is to create an encouraging environment where you can learn at your own pace while developing the knowledge and skills needed for responsible firearm ownership.
Course Overview:
This 16-hour class follows a structured curriculum that includes.
1. NRA Basic Pistol – 8 hours
Covers firearm safety, proper handling, and fundamentals of pistol shooting.
2. Illinois Conceal Carry Act, State and Federal Laws, and Use of Force – 4 hours
Reviews legal responsibilities, transportation requirements, and defensive considerations.
3. Firearms Handling & Training – 4 hours
What to Expect
Here’s what you can expect to learn during our class:
If any student already has a Concealed Carry and/or Safety Courses from the following States: Illinois, Utah, Florida, Nevada, Missouri, Kentucky, Michigan and Chicago, 4 Hours maybe applied towards the 16 Hours. If any student has any previous Firearm Training Certification, present it to the instructor for possible additional credit towards a ICCL Certification.
What You Need for Class
- 50 rounds of ammunition for the firearm that you bring
- Rigid Belt and Holster for your firearm
- Paper, Pen or Pencil
- Driver’s License or State ID
- FOID Card if you have one (you don’t need one to take the class)
- You can rent a firearm and buy ammunition at the range if you don’t have one
- A FOID Card is not required in class
- Important: NO LIVE ammunition in the classroom!

Certifications Earned:
After successfully completing the class, students will receive:
- NRA Basic Pistol Certification: This nationally recognized certification from the National Rifle Association (NRA) attests to your proficiency in pistol basics. It’s a testament to your dedication to safe and responsible firearm ownership.
- Illinois Concealed Carry License, Firearm Training: Our class satisfies the training requirements for the Illinois Concealed Carry License. This certification opens the door to legally carrying your concealed firearm, backed by the knowledge and skills you’ve gained.
