HBT Security Group offers the state-required 20-hour Basic Security Training for individuals seeking work as an Unarmed Private Security Officer in Illinois. This course meets all training standards established by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and prepares students for positions in private security throughout the state.
Our instructors bring decades of combined experience in law enforcement, security operations, and professional training. They focus on building confidence, communication skills, and a strong understanding of safety practices and legal responsibilities.

This course covers the essential skills and knowledge required for unarmed security professionals, including:
- Law of arrest, search and seizures
- Civil and criminal law
- Illinois criminal code 720 ILCS
- Use of force
- Arrest and control techniques
- Criminal code 2012
- First aid
- Fire prevention, fire equipment and fire safety
- Report writing
- Civil rights public relations
- Identification of terrorists and act of terrorism and terrorist organization
- Active shooter
- Ethics
